Via Press Release:

Ink Smith Publications, an industry leader in the Science Fiction / Fantasy genre, continues to expand its Young Adult Urban Fantasy line with the release of its latest novel, Maxx Fragg, V.P.I. (Virtual Paranormal Investigator) by author S.A. Check.

What would you risk for a second chance to say goodbye?

Available now, Maxx Fragg, V.P.I., a dark urban fantasy, explores an exciting new cyber world where a user’s only limitations are their own imaginations, but in a place where dreams become reality, can nightmares be far behind?

The novel touches on the universal truths of loss and acceptance as one young man struggles to come to grips with his brother’s tragic death and the guilt he suffers from it. Maxx runs the Maxx Fragg Virtual Paranormal Investigative Agency in the cyber city known as Other Syde, scamming virtual residents with his own brand of electronic exorcisms. When his dead brother reaches out to him inside the computer world, Maxx, his best friend Tane, and almost girlfriend Emi, find their selves face to face with a real ghost with a vendetta against Maxx.

At its heart, the story revolves around dealing with grief and the individual paths we each take as the book follows Maxx and his friends on a search for the truth behind the powers that run the virtual society. On the run from the murderous cybergeist, high-tech security guards, the corrupt corporations with their own plans for the technology, and the recluse genius who created the program, Maxx could prove to be the cyber city’s salvation or its ultimate destruction.
