John Cena Cast in Transformer's Spin-Off, "Bumblebee"

If you ever wanted to watch Megatron get powerbombed, I've got some news for you: John Cena will be in the next Transformers movie.  The Hollywood Reporter writes that Cena will star alongside Hailee Steinfeld (Edge of SeventeenPitch Perfect 2) in the prequel that will focus on Bumblebee in the 1980s.  This film will be the first in a series of lower-scale spin-offs that Paramount is hoping to experiment with.  This will also be the first Transformers movie to not be directed by Michael Bay; Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, The Boxtrolls) is currently set to direct.  Bumblebee, financially, has a lot to live up to with the franchise bringing in almost $4 billion across the 5 movies.  With grumblings from fans and critics about a drop in quality, this might just be what the Transformers series needs to get people excited about this live-action universe again.  The film will play in theaters on December 21, 2018, so they have more than enough time to get things right.  Until then, we'll keep you guys posted on major updates as they come in.

What do you guys think? Still watching these movies? Think John Cena is a good fit? Let us know!
